‘I Don’t Know What I Have Done To Offend Dalung’ – Samson Siasia Cries Out

Siasia and Dalung
Samson Siasia, who led the Nigerian Dream Team to a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio olympics, has admitted that he does not know how he offended the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung.
Siasia clashed with Dalung, after he complained about the poor working conditions for the Dream Team VI, as they prepared for the Games.
Dalung denied knowing that the U-23 team were in Atlanta, USA and mocked the coaches for engaging in human trafficking.
“The whole thing surprised me”, Siasia said in Johannesburg, while on a stopover to connect the final leg of the flight from São Paulo to Johannesburg and to Lagos.
“As we speak, I don’t know what I have done to offend the Minister. The whole thing is surprising,” Siasia continued.
“It’s funny. When he came, he shook hands with us and after shaking the players, he asked where is the coach? Everybody started laughing. We shook hands again and hugged.”
The former Super Eagles coach, who won Nigeria’s only medal at the Games, also stated that his team would have done better.
“The environment before the Games was not good but we resolved to weather the storm. The players gave their best. Without necessarily singling out players, Mikel was outstanding. He not only played well, he also motivated the squad with his leadership qualities.
“Also, injury did not allow us to use some other good players. Anyway, we’re grateful to win something for Nigerians who showed massive support to us,” he concluded.

We brought in Buhari to save Nigeria – Obasanjo@dailypostngr

buhari, obasanjo
A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said that he and four other eminent Nigerians brought President Muhammadu Buhari to power just to salvage the country from its current woes.
He said they took the decision when they felt that the country was on the edge of collapsing.
Obasanjo said, “Three or four of us from different part of the country got together and said to ourselves what do we do?
“We said what is the problem with us and why are we still not growing. We got talking and knew we needed to do something.
“What do we need to deal with for this Nigeria of ours to become what God has created it to be. A land flowing with milk and honey, that is the intention of God for creating Nigeria.”
The former President, who was quoted as making this statement on Thursday at a reception held in his honour at the Government House, Yola, Taraba State, said so far, Buhari had not disappointed the country.
He said, “So far, Buhari has not disappointed us. I trust him, he will not fail Nigerians. I know he will overcome the challenges the country is currently facing.”
He, however, said Nigeria needed to get its acts right in the area of politics, governance and leadership for the country to develop.
The Cable reports that Obasanjo vowed never to return to the Peoples Democratic Party on which platform he served as president for eight years.
Obasanjo said, “In the part of the country where I come from, there is a saying that you cannot say ‘good night’ and come back to say ‘good evening’ in the same place.
“So for me, it is good night for the PDP and that is all.”

The Japanese International Cooperation Agency says it is sponsoring 29 Nigerians to Japan for their Master’s degree under the Japanese Government Official Development Assistance.
A statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Ms Salamatu Baba, Public Relations official of JICA Nigeria, said the beneficiaries would also undergo internship at the completion of their programme.
“This Initiative offers opportunities for young and eligible African youths to study at Master’s courses in Japanese universities as international students and also experience internships at Japanese enterprises.
“This is in order to develop effective skills and knowledge in various fields, with the aim of contributing to the development of industries in Africa.
“This is in fulfilment of a promise made by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development.
“Abe promised a strategic five-year plan to provide 1,000 African youths with such master’s scholarship opportunities,” it said.
Baba said JICA received 1,946 applications from 50 African countries for the scholarship for the Japanese fiscal year admission 2016.
“In Nigeria, JICA received 196 applications that went through the four-tier rigorous screening exercise out of which 29 applicants were successful.
“The participants are expected to contribute to the development of Nigeria in collaboration with the Japanese private sector on their return,” the statement said.

It took PDP 16 years to make a dollar = N197,but it took APC just 1 year to make a dollar N400.It took PDP 16 years to destroy Nigeria, but ittook APC just 1 year to massacre, dismantle, kill and bury Nigeria. It took PDP 16 years to make fuel price N87 per litre, but it took APC 1yr to make fuel N145 per litre. It took PDP 16 years to make Nigeria corrupt, but it took APC just 1 year to make Nigeria Fantastically corrupt. It took PDP 16 years to keep the price of rice at N7,000 per bag,but took APC 1 year to project it to N18,000 per bag.It took Jonathan 5yrs to travel to 15 countries, but it took Pa Buhari 1 year to travel to 30 countries. It took PDP 16years to apply resounding economic policies that made banks grow, buttook APC 1 year to apply policies which madebanks to sack more staff. The worst administration of PDP is far better than the best of APC!

This is what Nigerian Youths want!

We want a Nigeria where public officers are questioned when they acquire undue assets.
We want a Nigeria where the Niger Delta will be duely compensated for environmental degradation, the North rehabilited from Boko Haram attacks, the East accelerated in development that the quest for biafra agitation will die a natural death, the west reinvigorated as the commerce centre of the economy, the middle belt set free from undue ethnic attacks by the herdsmen and recognized as the food basket of the nation.
A Nigeria where a man can sleep with both eyes closed
A Nigeria where there is zero tolerance for corruption no matter whose ox is gored
A Nigeria where the youths will be seen as the true leaders of today.
A Nigeria where you are judged as a Nigerian and not along tribal lines.
A Nigeria where Indigenous technologies will be brought to limelight.
a Nigeria where political office holders will not travel abroad for headache and running nose.
A Nigeria where every sector is made productive with clear result outputs.
A Nigeria where our citizens in diaspora will be willing to come back home to invest thereby reducing brain drain phenomenon

Media blamed Trump for Duke endorsement, silent on terrorist's dad backing ClintonFoxNews.com

When a white supremacist endorsed Donald Trump for president, the broadcast networks blamed the candidate, but when the radical father of a terrorist endorsed Hillary Clinton, TV journalists dismissed it, according to a media watchdog.
During the first three days of coverage after David Duke, a white supremacist and former leader of the KKK, endorsed Donald Trump back in February, the evening news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC devoted 11 minutes and 35 seconds to bashing Trump for not denouncing Duke, even though he had, notedMedia Research Center.
Earlier this week, when the gay-bashing, Taliban-sympathizing father of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen showed up in the front row of a Hillary Clinton rally and vocally endorsed her, those same shows on ABC and CBS quickly dismissed it as a coincidence, giving it only 1 minutes 54 seconds of coverage on Aug. 9.  NBC went a step further and failed to cover Seddique Mateen attending Hillary’s rally at all until the following day, when they gave it 18 seconds of coverage.
The Mateen story should have been hard to miss: Clinton spoke at length at the rally in Florida about the 49 people Mateen's son, an ISIS devotee, gunned down at a gay nightclub. When the TV networks did cover the Mateen story, it seemed as if their objective was to absolve the Clinton campaign, MRC noted.
“So, how did he get this prime spot?” ABC correspondent Cecilia Vega asked as she wrapped her coverage of the incident, “Secret service is telling us Mateen passed through metal detectors like everyone else. Clinton's aides will only say, ‘This individual wasn't invited as a guest and the campaign was unaware of his attendance until after the event.’”
In contrast, on March 1, ABC anchor Tom Llamas described Duke’s endorsement as “the moment that’s jolted the Republican party.” Host Lester Holt led the February 29 NBC Nightly News with “in an election season filled with head-shaking moments, spray tans, the KKK and ear piece malfunctions are among the topics driving the conversation about the Republican race.”

The late Ayodele Adu
Adu died on Friday, August 12, 2016, according to information available to NAIJ.com.
Details of his death were still sketchy at the time of this report, but a condolence message released by Olayinka Oyebode, a special assistant on media to Dr Kayode Fayemi, the minister of Solid Minerals Development, confirmed the incident.
Fayemi condoned with  the family of the deceased expressing shock and sadness about the incident.
